I have a friend who drinks a lot. He drinks to do almost anything, before he goes to school he drinks sometimes, and to go to a movie he takes a flask with him to drink. Whenever he goes to do anything he drinks, he also has an obsession with looking up the effects of drugs. He even ate a ton of Nutmeg simply because he heard it caused hallucinations. What should I do, he has an obsession with doing anything to change his mental state. Any ideas as to why he is so dependant on these drugs to get by?

Can toads survive winter hibernation buried only in rocks?

A pair of toads found their way into my basement's fire escape a few months ago. They were living fairly happily at first so I figured I'd let them stay in there, but then they began trying to burrow for winter. One toad vanished and hasn't reappeared, but the other tried to burrow in several places. It finally settled someone for about a week but today, during a rain, it emerged again. Since the floor of the fire escape is just rocks (no dirt, plant matter, etc) I'm not sure if it'll keep them alive. Should I relocate them to save them from freezing, or not disturb their burrowing attempts if they'd be able to survive? (:

My grandmother died just this morning, and we are deeply saddened by this, but my fiance and I have been planning our wedding since last year and all of our wedding suppliers have all been booked and paid for. How do I get my cat to lose weight?

I have 3 cats in the house. The oldest is a 7 year old spayed female. The next is a 6 year old neutered male. The youngest is 15 months old and is a spayed female. The youngest is my problem child. Since she was spayed at about 4 months old she has steadily gained weight. She has a large tummy waddle. lol Since she is a smaller breed cat with short legs she has a hard time jumping up on things.I have always "free fed" the older two cats so when she joined the clan I did not change my method of feeding. Now I don't know what to do to help this little girl loose weight. My first thought was t just put food down a couple times a day but that just won't work for the 2 older cats. Transmission Issues with 95 prelude 5 speed.?

So I was driving home on the highway the other day and suddenly my car pops out of gear and my rpms shoot up. I let off the gas, put the clutch in, and put it back in gear without problem. Now this happens about four times before finally the car refuses to be put in ANY gear and I had to get towed. Basically I can be sitting there in my driveway, put it in first, completely let off the clutch, and the car will not stall. I did not notice my clutch slipping. No burning smells or higher than usual rpm levels. Car was driving completely fine and normal up to that point where it was popping out of gear. Also the car only has about 70k miles. Any idea what this may be? I'm hoping its only the master or slave cylinder and not the clutch itself being as I know this generation of prelude has a master slave cylinder recall out on it, I'm just not sure how to personally check if its been replaced already. I'm having it towed to the shop today and preparing for the worst.

Something is wrong with my dog?

Something is wrong with my dog and I wanted to know if this is normal or not. She's about two and half years old and she ate like half of one pound piece of chocolate and er and ate a burger. Well she has been losing alot of weight and she looks boning, looks like she lose her muscle or something you can feel her ribcage and her spine and there's like very little muscle around it. She also hasnt been eating much barely anything for about close to two months, but now since about two to three weeks ago she has finally started to eat. Long story.. lost my job a year or so ago. Trying to repay the debt of a charge off credit card to a company called Collect Corp a few months ago set up a payment plan to pay off this account. Since then I lost my other job and contacted these folks to see if I could reduce the amount of payment until I got another job in which I was interviewing with. The man said certainly. He put me through to another person in the company to verify what I had asked and to give them my info again. I was told I could pay the minimum amount for the month of January (which was suppose to have been automatically withdrawn from my account on the last business day of the month. While I am in another state for an interview, this company withdrawals the funds 2 weeks before it was even due.. the entire amount which left me with a negative amount in my checking account. Unaware of this at the time, I plan for my trip home and try to pay for my airfare with my debit card and guess what..insufficientt funds. So I am stuck. I call the company the next day and was promised the funds would be put back in. I called back the following day... only to find out they will have to mail me a check 7-10 business days. What a crock. Here I am stuck in another state. I called my bank and I cannot over the phone stop payment on this due to the fact they need my signature. Any suggestions? Not only that.. the negative amount is costing me $35 dollars for each transaction I have overdrawn. What can I possibly do. I am freaking out.

she could be having a growth spurt which would explain her wanting a bottle. or she could be teething. i found that teething granules worked for my son if he woke in the night they worked almost instantly and he went back to sleep. they are herbal so no worries there, has she gone through any milestone i.e sitting standing etcc. i found that this disrupted my kids sleep for some reason. not sure why .

Is it safe to feed eggs to cats?

My kitty needs to take off some weight, but begs constantly. After some research, I think upping the amount of protein in his diet would help (kind of like Atkins), however, I really can't afford a more expensive brand of cat food. Why did all of my fish in the aquarium (tank) die? Guppies, catfish, tetra and glofish.?

My son got a 10 gallon fish tank for his birthday. We've had them a week and yesterday all the fish started dying off. He started out with 12 and is now down to 3, all dying within a couple of days. He had male guppies, a small catfish, red eyed tetras and glofish. All that are surviving is three of the glofish out of six of those. The fish started growing almost what looked like tiny crystals on them and they looked like they just kind of crystalized. So I'm wondering what we did wrong. We set the tank up and added the water purifier and let it run 24 hours before adding the fish. We have a small heater in the tank that is supposed to keep the tank at a correct temp. We fed them twice a day.the water isn't dirty it still looks clear as can be. Also, we did not overfeed. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

No your car will not overheat. If the battery is powering the car albeit in a somewhat diminished manner it is powering everything. That would include the radiator and fans as well. It won't have the chance to overheat because once the radiator and fans stop working the rest of your car components such as the engine transmission etc would stop working. You cant overheat the engine if its not running in the first place.

Losing my baby weight?

Making meat tender?? Tips!?

In my experience, meat doesn't like swift changes of temperature, (which is why slow cooking and leaving meat to rest after cooking works wonders) so maybe frozen meat into hot oil would affect the tenderness. How long did you cook it for? I made a rendang once and the recipe said to leave it simmering for 2.5-3 hours, and it seemed to work a treat. (P.S. I use recipes from www.bbc.co.uk/food)

Ammonia levels are high?

My tank is 3 months old, 29g freshwater community with 12 very small fish. I have an undergravel filter and a whisperflow power filter. My ammonia levels read 8 with an API reagent tester. I've used to try and control this with lots of ammonia remover and weekly water changes. I added ammo chips to my filter. I only feed them once a day and the food is gone in 90 sec. I use a gravel siphon the clean the gravel and change about 20% of my water every week. I asked for help a week ago and was advised to stop using chemicals, stay with ammo chips and do lots of water changes to get rid of the chemicals. So, I did, new tests reveal a pH of 6.8, nitrates read 20, nitrites 0 and ammonia 8. Help!!! I'm getting really frustrated. My fish seem unaware of any problem. Swimming around normally and eating as much as possible. What next? Ahhhhhhhhh!

How to get rid of constant nasal congestion?

I am constantly congested in my nose and sinuses. Half the time I can breathe through one nostril and it alternates between left and right but I mostly have to breathe through my mouth. When I sleep I wake up throughout the night because breathing through my mouth makes my throat dry and sore. I constantly feel like I need to swallow and when I blow my nose I just end hurting my ears because nothing comes out. I have seasonal allergies but the problem still exists when I take medicine for the allergies. As a male soldier who has seen a few female soldiers in training (but never in combat) I will say that women simply do not compete with males, physically, emotionally, and have a lack of discipline. Its a combination of many things in our society; Girls are pampered since birth, and are treated specially and with care. Many female soldiers i have seen have an air of entitlement. Standards for women are lower: 100% in the push-up and run events of the Army PT test for females are the failure mark (60%) for males. They tend to get away with a half-ing a lot of traditional soldier duties, due to forgiving males in their chain of command. Many would say I have a cynical, old-fashioned mysoginistic point of view, and I would say that they have no idea what they are talking about and are blinded by their "PC" views. Don't get me wrong, women have very important and irreplacable roles in society, but just not as soldiers.

It started out 7 days ago with a severe sore throat, and that's all I had for three days. It can learn Brine and man, that move is powerful!! Metagross and Gallade I'd switch out because, no offense, they're not that powerful. You should get Giratina. Though Metagross has some pretty excellent moves, I'd still switch him out. Maybe you should get a Raichu. And put in Giratina. I have a Giratina, but I wanna keep him. I heard you can trade them online now. I put a Pikachu down there and got a Bastiodon back. If you want a Steel-type Pokemon, I highly suggest getting Steelix. Very powerful Pokemon. Also, Steel-type Pokemon have high Defense. So, your opponent would have to hit you with a critical hit-type move. And if this is just for fun, like Wi-Fi battling, then I still suggest Steelix. Psittacine birds (parrots and ateils) do not eat meat, they eat grains, vegetables, and fruits, so it doesn't make sense that 'dead animals' would be used to manufacture their pelleted foods. It has been scientifically and empirically proven over and over that psitaccine birds fed pelleted diets with supplemented green leafy vegetables and carrots or sweet potato daily are much more healthy than birds fed seed/nut diets, no matter what is used to supplement the seed/nut diet. I cannot talk about chicken diets, dont' know what they use, but lets face it, chickens eat slugs and bugs and dead things in the dirt when they are raised free, so using dead animals and waste products is about the same thing.

In February of this year, my ex wife and I went to court for custody of our children. (This is my wife'ss yahoo account by the way.) Can I make my bicycle brakes better?

Why isn't my hot water heater element getting electricity?

The power comes to a very old fusebox/switch with two fuses--both of which are still good. Out of this two wires go to the thermostat and from there to the element. Using a tester, I find that one wire has juice, but the other doesn't. Same thing at the fusebox/switch. It has two sets of contact points (which feed into the wires). One set seems live, the other dead. I already replaced the element, so I don't think that's the problem...

OK, I'm thirteen, and today my parents and I are going to be moving around furniture and such. I have a large, very heavy TV, that we're going to attempt to put on milk crates, so that I don't have to sit on the floor to watch TV. I also have an electric keyboard, and three guitars. I also have a saxophone that I have at school, but I have to bring it home for a concert I will be playing in next week. There's a hamper, and a fan on my floor, but the fan is lifted each night onto a chair so I can have it on when I sleep. My bed is too high for a fan to be sitting on the floor, and I get anything from it. On my dresser, I have a mirror, and on that mirror, there's pictures, a movie ticket, certificates, and a poem. There's also perfume, jewelry, my Edward and Bella dolls, my nail stuff, my makeup, my hair stuff, my deodorant, lotion, some pictures in frames, a mini mirror, two Cullen crests, and a lamp. On top of my TV are my remotes, a cable box, a DVD player, and a VCR, and a picture of my boyfriend. My old bedside table is behind my door with my trash can under it. On my headboard, there are two compartments for things, and in one, I have some journals for multiple projects I want to start, a book light, my old gles, (long story about the gles. To cut it short, I can't read with my new gles on, and I have to read with my old gles on.) and my flip video camera. In the other compartment, I have a math stencil I found on the bus, and am returning to the teacher on Monday, a book light, my DVDs, and my music case. In between them, I have my library books, and my gles case. On top of my headboard, I have my alarm clock. Covering my walls are Twilight posters, a calender for the countdown to Eclipse, a regular puppy calender, a picture of my father, a 3D picture of a ship, and a stitching thing my grandmother made the day I was born. There's also a few sweaters hanging on nails, and two cork boards. In the top right corner of my room, my fan, my old school backpack, and two guitars are there. On my desk, there's a lamp, a pencil sharpener, a lava lamp, and a basket of junk. In a container that's connected to my desk, I have my board games, and my writing binder. Under the table where my keyboard rests are my shoes, they're in a small container, then my art stuff in a pink container. On my bookcase are my books, of course, some magazines that I hope to make into a collage for my room, my yearbooks from fifth and seventh grade, some music books, a Twilight bucket holding some stuff, a broken basket with another smaller basket inside holding twine and beads, it's on top of a wood shop project I made last year, which was a box, and it's empty. Those things are on top of a box, which holds tons of things. next to that is my science project I have to bring to school Monday. On my hanging shelves that my grandfather made, there are figurines, a small set of drawers holding a few things, such as my sewing equipment. Then my memory box, and some things from my dad. I also have my snow globe collection on it too. On my other shelf, there's a Wicca shrine. On a little table next to my dresser is a small table with a little purple lined basket. That's empty. I can't paint, wallpaper, or buy new furniture, but I'd like some tips on how to make my room seem bigger. The first thing I see when I walk in is my bed. That's annoying.
