Will my hair last in the winter?

my hair is lke a light brownish and very stubbourn i flat iron it alot and if i wear it out it poofs up (in the summer) so if i flat iron my hair and wear it out in 60 degree weather will it last or poof up. my hair is very light and middly nappy
