Sylvania UltraBright headlights?

I have a 98 Prelude that I've been wanting to put the new headlights into. Do I need anything special for them or are they like standards and are plug and go. And also, I've heard so much about: They run hot and can melt your headlamp embly, dont work well in rain, and there are several different temperatures to buy, whats what?
