On Astro Knights on the ice planet, how do you beat the flying cat thing?

I'm on poptropica.com, on the Ice Planet from Astro Knights island. How do I beat the flying cat/helicopter thing? I know that you have to bounce the ice with your shield, but then it turns red and attacks me. I spent 15 minutes luring away the space sharks, so I'm not going to leave.
