Does anyone know where I can buy a spring loaded metal part that fills the space of size C and D batteries?

I am looking for an alternative to alligator clips that is more of a drop in solution. My initial thought is some sort of spring loaded battery replacement that would essentially be an empty battery case. Does anyone know where i could source this out?
